Vasiliy Lomachenko vs. Jamaine Ortiz Odds

Ukrainian Eyes Title Shot

There is plenty of intrigue surrounding the Vasiliy Lomachenko vs. Jamaine Ortiz odds, but it has been one-way traffic since markets opened.

Former three-belt champion Lomachenko wants another chance to get his titles back and he should roll through Ortiz, who is unbeaten but not on the same level.

Saturday’s fight in New York will be watched from around the world and it should be an exciting contest.

Lomachenko Eyeing Bigger Fights

The potential next opponent for Lomachenko has received a lot of attention, but the 34-year-old must concentrate on Ortiz.

Ortiz is a worthy opponent, but he hasn’t faced the same level of opposition. However, despite this, Lomachenko isn’t in a position to take the night off.

He should put all the talk about a potential matchup against Devin Haney behind him to put away Ortiz, who has yet to taste defeat as a professional boxer.

“I’m motivated very, very good because I have a goal; I have a dream to be undisputed world champion. Now I’m closer to my next chance. I have my next fight on October 29th in New York,” Lomachenko told BoxingNews24.com.

Despite having two losses on his record, Lomachenko has faced harder opponents. He defeated Jorge Linares and Guillermo Rigondeaux along with others, so that holds plenty of weight for the betting boxing favorite.

He recently defeated Richard Commey in a one-sided judge’s decision for the victory, which was a good tune-up.

We would love to see him tested against a more skilled opponent and Ortiz isn’t that person in our opinion. With Vasiliy Lomachenko vs. Jamaine Ortiz odds of -1600, Lomachenko should increase his winning streak to 17-2.

Ortiz Taking His Chances

With unbeaten boxers, there is always a lot of uncertainty, so Ortiz will have his hands full on Saturday.

The advantage of battling in New York goes to the 26-year-old American, but for us, the advantages end there. He defeated Jamel Herring by unanimous decision in May, but that’s hardly an excellent form guide.

The 23-3 fighter won the bout by a razor-thin margin and he only has eight knockouts in his career, so he doesn’t have the power edge either. Despite this, he comes into the fight with confidence.

“Lomachenko is a great fighter, but I’m here to win,” Ortiz said. “Once I win this fight, I’m targeting a world title opportunity. This is a dream come true.”

Our boxing fight predictions see Lomachenko producing another professional display. He’s the much better fighter and he has been under pressure conditions for years, so that could be the difference between the former champion and Ortiz.

Vasiliy Lomachenko vs. Jamaine Ortiz odds tell the full story and it should be a cruising victory. We don’t think the Ukrainian will win by knockout, but he should be miles better on the judge’s scorecards.
