Defending champions PSG have taken a five-point lead in Ligue 1 a third of the way through the season. They’ll face a decent test this week as they head to Lorient. PSG are certainly not even close to the only reason to pay attention to Ligue 1. There are many strong Ligue 1 teams this season in what promises to be a tight Champions League race. Plus, one of France’s biggest matches is on the cards this weekend as Olympique Marseille host Olympique Lyonnais in the “Choc des Olympiques” or Clash of the Olympics. Let’s take a look at the Ligue 1 Matchday 14 odds from some of the weekend’s biggest matches.

Lorient vs. PSG

PSG remained unbeaten in Ligue 1 with a 4-3 win over Troyes last Saturday. All of Lionel Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe found the scoresheet, along with Carlos Soler. Now, PSG face Lorient on the road, who have been one of the surprises of the season. They’re fourth in the Ligue 1 standings but are now winless in their last three matches.
Lorient’s Terem Moffi has been one of the best forwards in the league this season, with eight goals. That’s good enough for joint-fourth in the league. PSG’s Mbappe and Neymar are numbers one and two in the list, with 11 and 10 goals, respectively. PSG’s high powered offense is certainly expected to get on the board in this one. The Ligue 1 Matchday 14 odds price the Parisians at -335 odds to win.
PSG are currently on a three-match winning streak but Lorient are unbeaten in their last two home matches vs. PSG. Last season, these teams drew 1-1 at Lorient. The home side shows +700 odds to win and a draw is priced at +500. Both teams have scored in the last three meetings and it’s priced at -125 odds here.
Lille vs. Rennes

Rennes come into the weekend with Ligue 1’s longest active winning streak. They’ve won five straight and are now in third place in the league. They’ll try to keep that momentum going when they head on the road to Lille on Matchday 14. After a slow start to the season, Lille have picked things up lately and have three wins in their last five matches.
Lille’s Jonathan David is in the golden boot race once again and has bagged nine goals so far. Rennes have some serious goalscorers of their own. Martin Terrier and Amine Gouiri have eight and six goals this season, respectively. Rennes have also scored more goals this season than any other team not named PSG. They sit at +160 Ligue 1 Matchday 14 odds to win but have struggled in recent seasons vs. Lille.
One thing to note is that Lille have the worst defensive record of any top ten side and have conceded nearly 1.7 goals per game.
In the last six meetings, Lille are unbeaten, with three wins and three draws. Last season, this fixture finished in a 2-2 draw at Lille, while Les Dogues won 2-1 at Rennes. Marseille vs. Lyon

The Choc des Olympique’s is always one of the best fixtures on the Ligue 1 schedule. Olympique de Marseille and Olympique Lyonnais are two of the most storied clubs in French soccer and share a bitter rivalry. Despite the fact that Marseille finished well above Lyon in the table last season, Lyon had the upper hand in this fixture.
OL won both matches last season and defeated OM 3-0 on the road in May. In fact, Lyon are unbeaten in the last five meetings across all competitions. Plus, Marseille are in bad form in Ligue 1 and had a draining Champions League match vs. Tottenham on Tuesday. OM didn’t win a Ligue 1 match in four tries in October and have dropped three of their last four. Against Tottenham, Marseille fell 2-1 and were eliminated from European competition as a result.
Regardless, Marseille sit at +115 odds to defeat Lyon at the Stade Velodrome for the first time in three years. Visitors Lyon are priced at +225 odds and have won their last two matches after a poor start to the season. Alexandre Lacazette scored the winning goal in both of those matches and has been an integral part of the team since leaving Arsenal. Marseille have another former Arsenal star up top, in Alexis Sanchez. Sanchez leads Marseille with four goals in Ligue 1 and he certainly wouldn’t mind adding to his tally in this rivalry match.
