Marseille Favored to Extend Unbeaten Streak to Ten

While PSG have stumbled a fair bit in 2023, Marseille have managed to put themselves back in the title race. OM are five points behind PSG heading into Ligue 1 Matchday 22 and can extend their unbeaten streak to ten.

PSG take on an in-form Toulouse side while Marseille host Nice this weekend. Let’s take a look at these games and others as we preview the Ligue 1 Matchday 22 odds.

Games of the Week:

PSG PSG vs Toulouse TOU

Date Time:
Location: Parque de los Principes
Streaming: Live Stream Sports

Paris Saint-Germain are in first place in the Ligue 1 team standings and defeated Montpellier 3-1 on Wednesday. Warren Zaire-Emery scored PSG’s third goal and became the youngest goalscorer in Ligue 1 history in the process.

At just 16 years old and 330 days, Zaire-Emery is one to watch for the future. PSG’s opponents on Saturday, Toulouse, are unbeaten in seven matches in 2023, in all competitions. They scored four vs. Troyes on Wednesday and could pose an attacking threat to PSG. Still, the Parisians enter the match as 1½-goal favorites. They sit at -130 odds to cover and -350 Odds to win the match.

Marco Verratti was suspended on Wednesday after receiving a straight red in the 1-1 draw vs. Reims last weekend. His replacement, Fabian Ruiz, scored PSG’s first goal vs. Montpellier and it remains to be seen whether he’ll get another nod.

Thijs Dallinga opened up the scoring for Toulouse in the 4-1 win vs. Troyes midweek and he leads Les Violets with seven goals on the Ligue 1 season. Interestingly enough, no Ligue 1 team has gained more points than Toulouse over the last five Ligue 1 matches. They’re 4-1-0 in their last five but did lose 3-0 to PSG in the reverse fixture.

That said, visitors Toulouse come into the match at even odds to cover the spread. They also display +750 odds to get their first road win over PSG since 2008. PSG have won the last six meetings and five of those have been shutouts, though.

Paris Saint-Germain have drawn just three times this season in 21 Ligue 1 matches and a tie shows +500 odds for this one. Meanwhile, under 3½ goals sits at a -125 price.

RENRennes vs LilleLIL

Date Time:
Location: Roazhon Park
Streaming: Live Stream Sports

Both Rennes and Lille are competing for European places and this is a big match for both sides. SRFC enter this match in fifth place, five points ahead of sixth-placed Lille. Rennes lost Kamaldeen Sulemana to Southampton in January but managed to bring in Lyon striker Karl Toko Ekambi on loan. He joins a high-scoring Rennes offensive unit.

They’ve nearly scored two goals per game thus far and Amine Gouiri managed a brace in the 3-0 win vs. Strasbourg on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Lille drew 0-0 with Clermont and have won just one of their last five matches.

The Ligue 1 Matchday 22 Odds price Rennes as ½-goal Favorites heading into Saturday. They show both +125 ATS and moneyline odds.

Concerningly, Lille have been shutout in three of their last four Ligue 1 matches. They’re +210 underdogs but sit at -155 odds to cover the spread here. Star striker Jonathan David missed the Clermont match due to a broken hand. He could potentially play on Saturday with a cast and his production is sorely missed.

Midfielder Adam Ounas is also out for the next two months, which is a big blow. Meanwhile, Hamari Traore, Lovro Majer and Arnaud Kalimuendo all missed Rennes’ 3-0 win over Strasbourg. In place of Kalimuendo, 17-year old winger Desire Doue scored his third Ligue 1 goal of the season. Majer should be back in the midfield on Saturday but Traore and Kalimuendo’s statuses are uncertain.

The last two matches between these teams have finished in draws and another one comes in at +245 odds. While four of the last seven matches have finished in draws, Lille are unbeaten in the last seven. They’ve won the last two meetings at Roazhon Park but Rennes have been the joint-best home team in the league this season.

They’ve compiled an incredible 10-1 record and averaged over two goals per game at home. Under 2½ goals comes in at -130 odds for this match.

CLEClermont vs MonacoMON

Date Time:
Location: Stade Gabriel Montpied
Streaming: Live Stream Sports

Clermont Foot are yet to lose in Ligue 1 in 2023. They’ll put their five-match unbeaten streak on the line when they host Monaco on Sunday. Clermont have played in consecutive scoreless draws. Meanwhile, Monaco are also unbeaten in Ligue 1 in 2023 and coming off a 3-2 win over Auxerre.

Breel Embolo and Wissam Ben Yedder have continued their excellent play. Both of them got on the scoresheet vs. Auxerre and they’ve combined for 23 goals this season. Wonderkid Eliesse Ben Seghir also scored vs. Auxerre and has made the most of his opportunities.

The Ligue 1 Matchday 22 Odds price Monaco as ½-goal road favorites for Sunday’s match. They currently show -115 ATS and moneyline odds.

Curiously, the majority of Clermont’s points have come on the road this season. They’re just 4-2-4 at home but enter the weekend in ninth place. Plus, key Clermont midfielder Johan Gastien missed a second straight match on Wednesday.

It remains to be seen whether he’ll recover from a calf injury in time to play on Sunday. The other moneylines for the match are as follows: Clermont +300 and Draw +285. Clermont also come in at -115 odds to cover the spread.

Monaco are unbeaten in all three recent meetings but these teams drew 1-1 in the reverse fixture. A first half red card from Mohamed Camara sent Monaco down to ten men but they struck first. Komnen Andric equalized for Clermont.

Monaco comfortably won both meetings last season and outscored Clermont 7-1 in the process. Over 2½ goals display -130 odds for the second and final match of the season between these two sides.

OMMarseille vs Nice NIC

Date Time:
Location: Velodrome
Streaming: Live Stream Sports

In one of the best matches on the Ligue 1 fixtures schedule Marseille host Nice. Marseille are unbeaten in their last nine Ligue 1 matches and attempting to mount a title challenge. They were also active late in the transfer window by bringing in Morocco star Azzedine Ounahi and forward Vitinha.

Ounahi immediately made an impact as he scored the second goal in a 2-0 win vs. Nantes on his debut. Vitinha could play a part on Sunday as he’s yet to make his debut. OM take on a Nice side that has won three of their last four Ligue 1 matches. In a big match between two Southern French teams, Marseille are ½-goal favorites.

OM show both -140 odds to cover and win the match. Marseille won the reverse fixture, 3-0, and also won the meeting at the Stade Velodrome last season. Marseille are on a 13-game scoring streak in all competitions, while Nice have already been shutout three times since the restart. Heading into the match under 2½ goals sits at -120 odds. Nice, who have managed impressive back-to-back wins over Lens and Lille, come in at +400 odds to win the match.

OGC Nice +½ also sits at +110 odds. Nice signed Lorient leading scorer Terem Moffi on loan and he could give them an offensive punch. Moffi scored an impressive 12 goals for Lorient in 18 matches this season. It would also be a big offensive boost if Nice can get Nicolas Pepe back from an injury in time for this one.

On the defensive end, January signing Youssouf Nyange Ndayishimiye has slotted in nicely into the center back position and helped keep two consecutive clean sheets. Nice would likely be happy with a draw here and a deadlock displays +280 odds.
