Ligue 1 Matchday 24 Odds: Last Two Champions Face Off

PSG Slip Up

Last Two Champions Face Off

The last two Ligue 1 winners will meet on Sunday as Paris Saint-Germain host Lille. PSG slipped up on Matchday 23 and lost 3-1 to Monaco. Meanwhile, Lille have been one of Ligue 1’s best teams since the start of the new year. That’s not the only big match on display, as Nice and Reims will put their unbeaten runs on the line on Saturday. We’ll cover these matches and more as we take a look at the Ligue 1 Matchday 24 odds.

Matches of the Week

NIC Nice vs Reims REI

Date & Time:

Nice and Reims may not be in the European places but they have been two of the league’s best teams recently. OGC Nice have rattled off a four-game winning streak and no team has more points than them over the last five matches. Meanwhile, Reims are on an incredible 15-game unbeaten streak in Ligue 1. This has been quite a strange fixture recently as well, with five draws in the last six. Another draw comes in at +235 odds for this match.

Four of those five draws have been scoreless draws, including the last meeting in January. Both defenses have been excellent lately and under 2½ goals display -140 odds for the match. Plus, Reims have also drawn eight of their 12 away matches this season. Last weekend, though, Reims battered Troyes, 4-0. Folarin Balogun scored his Ligue 1-leading 15th goal of the season and has been immense. Reims’ Alexis Flips is also among the Ligue 1 stat leaders, with five assists.

On the other hand, Nice have been excellent as of late. In the last four weeks, Nice have defeated Lens, Lille, Marseille and Ajaccio. They’re peaking at the right time and are currently just four points outside of a European place. Nice are ½-goal favorites heading into Saturday and sit at +110 ATS and moneyline odds. Reims are -140 favorites to cover but show +270 odds to win at Nice for the first time since 2018. Nice’s Billal Brahimi has been a super sub over the last few matches. He’s found the net three times in the last two games off the bench. Can he make the difference that ends Reims’ long unbeaten run?

PSG PSG vs Lille LIL

Date & Time:

It’s been a challenging week for Paris Saint-Germain. They fell 3-1 to Monaco last weekend with Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe out. Then, with Messi back in the starting XI but Mbappe coming off the bench, they dropped the first leg of their Champions League round of 16 fixture 1-0 vs. Bayern Munich. PSG hold just a five-point lead in Ligue 1 right now and certainly need to bounce back. They’re facing a red-hot Lille team on Sunday, though. Only Monaco and Nice have gained more points than Lille over the last five matches. PSG have defeated Lille by a combined 12-2 scoreline in their last two meetings, though.

The Parisians enter Sunday’s match as ½-goal favorites and sit at -155 odds to cover and win. They’ll also be hoping Kylian Mbappe is fully fit to start this match. Mbappe was a star at the World Cup but he’s failed to find the net in his last five PSG appearances. Meanwhile, Lille’s Jonathan David registered a brace in the 2-0 win over Strasbourg on Sunday. He has five Ligue 1 goals in 2023 and is in the running for the Golden Boot, just like Mbappe.

His Lille show +125 odds to cover and +390 odds to defeat PSG on the road. That’ll be difficult, as PSG are an unbeaten 9-2-0 at home this season in Ligue 1. These teams haven’t drawn any of their last six meetings, in all competitions, but a deadlock displays +325 odds. With some high-flying offenses on display, over 2½ goals come in at -155 Ligue 1 Matchday 24 odds.

Top Three Teams in Action

BRE Brest vs Monaco MON

Date & Time:

Prior to a 3-0 loss to Montpellier, Brest were actually looking quite competitive despite their 15h place standing. They’ll host a dangerous Monaco side on Sunday coming off a win over PSG. First, Monaco head on the road to Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa League playoff on Thursday. The France Ligue 1 odds list Monaco as ½-goal favorites as they show -130 ATS and moneyline odds. These teams last met on New Year’s Day and Monaco came away with a 1-0 win thanks to an Aleksandr Golovin goal.

Interestingly, Brest have defeated and shut out Monaco at home in each of the last two seasons. Still they sit at just even odds to cover the spread and get a draw or win. Meanwhile, Brest show +330 odds to break a three-match winless streak. A draw has never occurred in this fixture but one comes in at +300 odds. After a slow start to the season, Monaco have played their way back into the Champions League places. They’re in third place, just two points behind second-placed Marseille. They’ll want to aim for at least second, as Ligue 1’s third-placed team must contest a playoff to enter the UCL group stage.

Wissam Ben Yedder has been at the forefront of the Monaco attack in recent weeks. He scored a brace vs. PSG and has scored 14 goals this season. Meanwhile, teammate Breel Embolo isn’t far behind, with 12. Meanwhile, only three teams have scored fewer goals than Brest this season and they’ve won just two of their 11 home matches this season. Regardless, over

2½ goals display a -130 price for the match.

TOU Toulouse vs Marseille OM

Date & Time:

Toulouse have earned a respectable 10 points in their last five matches. They’re also onto the Coupe de France quarterfinals, so it’s been a good return to the top flight for them. They face a tough opponent, in Marseille, this weekend though. Marseille have also gained 10 points in their last five and sit just five points behind leaders PSG. Alexis Sanchez scored a brace in his return to the starting lineup last weekend as Marseille defeated Clermont 2-0. Now, the Ligue 1 Matchday 24 odds price OM as ½-goal favorites. They come in at both -105 ATS and moneyline odds.

In the reverse fixture, Marseille smashed Toulouse 6-1. In that late December match, six of Marseille’s seven shots on target ended up in the back of the net. Bettors should note that both teams are on long scoring streaks heading into this match. Toulouse have found the net in their last nine Ligue 1 matches, while Marseille have done the same in each of their last 11. Still, under three goals display -130 odds for Sunday’s match despite both teams averaging over two goals per game in their last five.

The embarrassing 6-1 defeat will still be fresh in Toulouse’s minds. In fact, they are favored to cover the spread and pick up a win or draw here. Toulouse +½ comes in at -125 odds. Punters should also be aware of the fact that Marseille have been the best road team in the league this season. OM are 8-2-1 in 11 away matches and have picked up more points on the road than at home. Last but not least on the odds board, a draw shows +285 odds.
