Donnarumma Suspended for PSG

Just ten minutes into PSG’s match at Le Havre on Sunday, goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma was sent off for a high kick on a Le Havre player. So, Arnau Tenas replaced him in goal and Bradley Barcola was subbed off by Luis Enrique. Tenas had an excellent debut for PSG, in which he made seven saves and kept a clean sheet. Kylian Mbappe and Vitinha scored in a hard fought 2-0 PSG win.

Mbappe currently tops the list of Ligue 1 top scorers , with 15 goals. Ousmane Dembele is also a joint-league leader in assists, with five. PSG bettors should note that Donnarumma will miss Saturday’s match due to a suspension. Regardless, the Parisians have started to hit their stride in Ligue 1 and now hold a four-point lead at the top of the table. It has taken some time for PSG to adjust to Luis Enrique’s coaching but they’ve scored 16 goals in their last five league games.

Along with Donnarumma, Fabian Ruiz, Marquinhos, Warren Zaire-Emery, Keylor Navas and Nuno Mendes are out. Marquinhos is PSG’s captain and a key center back but Nordi Mukiele and Danilo Pereira managed to keep a shutout vs Le Havre. Zaire-Emery is a rising star but his absence means more time for Manuel Ugarte and Vitinha. Although their starting goalkeeper is out, PSG are -500 favorites according to the PSG vs Nantes Ligue 1 odds .

Nantes Win in Gourvennec’s First Match

Nantes are one of the few Ligue 1 teams to make an in-season coaching change. Following three straight losses and a draw, Jocelyn Gourvennec replaced Pierre Aristouy ahead of Nantes’ match vs Nice. Expectations weren’t exactly high for Gourvennec’s first match, as Nice had conceded just four goals all season.

Still, Nantes managed to pull off a 1-0 win as Florent Mollet scored the winner. Alban Lafont was stellar in goal, as he made some big saves to keep a clean sheet. With the win, Nantes moved up to eighth place in the Ligue 1 table. They’re the only team in the top half of the table with a negative goal difference.

This season, Nantes have conceded over 1.5 goals per game. However, they’ll be looking for a third straight shutout when they head to Paris on Saturday. Currently, Ignatius Ganago and Quentin Merlin are out injured for the Canaries. Mostafa Mohamed and Moses Simon have been Nantes’ biggest offensive threats this season. Mohamed has scored five Ligue 1 goals so far, and Simon has scored three times and provided four assists.

Match Analysis & Odds

PSG are expected to come away with all three points here. With a crucial Champions League game at Borussia Dortmund the following Wednesday, it’s possible that Enrique could rest some of his best players here. Regardless, the PSG vs Nantes Ligue 1 odds list the Parisians as -500 favorites and PSG -2 comes in at -115 odds. Expect Tenas to get another opportunity in goal with Donnarumma out and he’ll be motivated to prove himself once again.

All three of PSG’s wins over Nantes in the 2022-23 season came by a two-goal margin or more. Nantes are +1200 underdogs and wins at the Parc des Princes have been rare for them. The Canaries have won just one of their last 14 Ligue 1 matches at PSG. Nantes +2 sits at -115 and they figure to have their backs against the wall in this one.

PSG have scored 36 goals in 14 matches, which is seven more than any other team so far. Mbappe has undoubtedly been their most valuable player and has contributed to nearly half of their goals. A draw is priced at +600 odds for Saturday’s match, while under 3.5 goals display -120 odds.
