MLB Tuesday Recap: Judge Homers Again in Yankee Win

Bronx Bombers Reach Double Digits in Third Straight Game

The MLB Tuesday Recap shows the New York Yankees continuing with their torrid pace, scoring 10 or more runs for the third straight game. The Yankees pounded out 12 hits in a 10-2 win at Seattle. The Yankees were +120 underdogs in the game. The total on the game was 7. The Yankees had that many runs by the fourth inning.

New York’s win prevented a big day for favorites, who finished Tuesday with a 9-6 record. Totals were 7-7-1, with the Brewers and Blue Jays pushing their total of 9. Favorites of -150 or higher were just 5-4 on the day, so those who wagered on the large underdogs were rewarded with a bit of profit. A $100 flat-bet on all nine of the big underdogs returned a $134 win for the evening.

Padres Score Late Against Marlins

San Diego’s 9-4 win over the Marlins may look like an easy game, but it was anything but. The Padres trailed 4-2 entering the seventh and scored twice to tie the game. San Diego scored five runs in the top of the ninth with Matt Carpenter’s two-run double the key hit.

Blue Jays, Brewers Struggle Late

The MLB Tuesday Recap shows the Blue Jays and Brewers pushed against the total of 9 in a frustrating tie for over bettors. Toronto led 7-2 after three innings but neither team would score again. The Toronto bullpen was particularly solid, allowing just one hit in four innings.

Late Fireworks in Fenway

Those who bet the over between Cincinnati and Boston weren’t too pleased to see the Reds take a 3-0 lead into the seventh inning. But the Reds scored five runs in the top of the seventh. The Red Sox responded with three runs in the bottom of the seventh to push the game over 9.5. Boston made it interesting with five runs in the ninth, but the Reds held on for a 9-8 victory.

Senga Brilliant in Mets’ victory

Kodai Senga turned in seven scoreless innings in New York’s 2-0 win over Philadelphia. He fanned nine and allowed just one hit. Francisco Lindor belted a solo home run in the winning effort. The Mets are 13-9 at home this season and 15-18 on the road. New York has plenty of home games remaining and could make up some ground in the NL East.

Cubs Edge Rays in Pitching Duel

The MLB Tuesday Recap shows the Tampa Bays losing their second straight game to the Chicago Cubs. The Cubs won 1-0 on Monday and then came away with a 2-1 victory on Tuesday. Ian Happ and Nico Hoerner drove in runs for the Cubs. Kyle Hendricks and three relievers shut down the Tampa offense.

Gallen Maintains Home Mastery

There’s something about the heat for Arizona’s Zac Gallen. While many may think the MLB weather in Arizona is too hot, Gallen has thrived at home this season. With six scoreless innings in Tuesday’s 5-1 win over the Rockies, Gallen lowered his home ERA to 0.66 this season. Ketel Marte and Evan Longoria belted first-inning home runs for the Diamondbacks and that was all Gallen needed.

Oakland Wins Back-to-Back Games

The Atlanta Braves at Oakland Athletics wasn’t the most enticing game on the MLB schedule, but it was one of the better ones. Oakland won the game on a fielder’s choice off the bat of Jonah Bride to take the 2-1 victory. It was just the second time the A’s have won two straight games. It was also just the second game the A’s have allowed fewer than two runs in. Oakland defeated the Angels 2-1 on March 30.
