Gibson Goes After Eighth Win of Season for Visiting Orioles

Milwaukee Looks to Reclaim First Place in National League Central Division

A Welcome Addition

While some New York Yankees fans cheered the decision to part ways with struggling outfielder Aaron Hicks, the Baltimore Orioles were just fine adding another veteran bat to the lineup.

Hicks had two hits, including a triple, a walk and an RBI in Baltimore’s last game, and in three games with the Orioles he is batting .333 with a .455 on-base percentage after playing in all three games in the series with the San Francisco Giants. Even with his addition, Orioles vs Brewers betting odds list visiting Baltimore as the underdog.

Four of Baltimore’s last five games against National League teams finished under the total. The total is set at 8.5 for this MLB matchup.

Wiemer Starting to Deliver

Outfielder Joey Wiemer was looking like a Rookie of the Year candidate when the season began as he was batting .333 with three extra-base hits in his first eight games. After that, his average plummeted to .187 in late May.

He is back trending in the right direction with a .444 batting average during his current six-game hitting streak with four doubles, a home run, six runs scored and five walks. His recent hot streak is one reason why Milwaukee is favored according to the Orioles vs Brewers betting odds.

Five of Milwaukee’s last six games finished under the total.

Relief pitcher Danny Coulombe is expected to come off the bereavement list and be available for the series opener for Baltimore while second baseman Gunnar Henderson is questionable with a back issue.

For Milwaukee, shortstop Willy Adames is expected to be sidelined until at least Thursday due to a concussion.

Orioles vs Brewers Betting Preview

Although Milwaukee is favored with -123 odds to take the series opener, it is hard to have too much confidence in the way Peralta has been pitching.

Milwaukee has won seven of the last eight meetings and has captured the last five home games against the Orioles. The last time Baltimore won in Milwaukee came in 2014.

None of the last six meetings between the Orioles and Brewers finished over the total.
