Can The Ravens Earn Home Victory Over Chiefs in AFC Championship?

The Chiefs vs Ravens Odds Have Baltimore Favored By 3.5 Points At Home

The AFC Conference Championship is set!

The Baltimore Ravens will welcome the Kansas City Chiefs to M&T Bank Stadium for a chance at playing in the Super Bowl.

Baltimore only began their playoff journey on January 20 after earning the No. 1 seed in the AFC. In Baltimore’s game against the Texans, the Ravens struggled early in the first half. With the game tied, 10-10, the Ravens stormed out in the second half at home and earned a 34-10 victory over the Texans to move on into the AFC Championship Game.

The Kansas City Chiefs traded blows with the Buffalo Bills the day after but ultimately came out on top, 27-24 on the road. Chiefs have never missed the AFC Championship game since Mahomes became the team’s quarterback. You can’t ever count the Chiefs out in January, despite some of their recent struggles to finish the NFL regular season.

Now, the Chiefs will have another road game against a dominant Ravens squad. The lines are going to see some movement as the week goes on. But for now, the Chiefs are sitting at +3.5 (-120) on the road against the Ravens. You can find the Ravens at -3 (-120) at other books. Make sure to shop around as there is a 3/3.5 divide at many books.

The total is currently at 44.5 at -110 on both sides. However, some sportsbooks added this game on the board too early and gave out a number as high as 48. That number got hammered down all the way to 44.5, which is where we are now.

Let’s talk about the Chiefs vs Ravens odds for the AFC Championship matchup at 3:00 pm ET, Sunday, on CBS.

Chiefs vs Ravens Odds

The Chiefs and Ravens both covered against the spread in their Divisional Playoff matchups. The Ravens were hefty favorites at -10 but were still covered with a 24-point win over Houston.

On the other hand, the Chiefs have added back-to-back covers in the playoffs and have now covered in four straight games dating back to the regular season.

The last time the Ravens faced the Chiefs was on September 19, 2021, when the Ravens earned a 36-35 win as 3.5-point underdogs in Baltimore.

Will Andy Reid Go Out A Winner?

The latest NFL rumor swirling around social media is that Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid could retire after this season.

Reid is a three-time Super Bowl champion, with a Super Bowl with the Philadelphia Eagles and two with the Chiefs.

Right now, the Chiefs are bracing for the chance that Reid retires. He hasn’t said anything personally or confirmed anything. But this could be the last time we see the Reid-Mahomes duo in the NFL playoffs or the regular season ever again.

This duo has been a top-four NFL team every year since Mahomes was the starter for the Chiefs. It’s one of the best coach-quarterback duos in NFL history.

Baltimore’s Crowd Will Make A Difference

The Baltimore Ravens thanked the crowd for their AFC Divisional Playoff win against the Texans.

That’s because the Texans had five false starters and couldn’t hear a thing due to the fan noise during the playoff game.

Getting a rookie off track is much easier than getting Patrick Mahomes off track. But it’s still something that Mahomes will have to maneuver around. The Ravens are the No. 1 seed in the AFC for a reason. They ultimately don’t have many flaws, if any.

Even Mahomes acknowledged this in his on-field post-game interview after defeating the Bills.

Baltimore’s fans will bring it. We’ll see if that’ll help get the Chiefs’ offense to make some uncharacteristic mistakes.

Should You Fade Baltimore At Home?

The Chiefs are no stranger to the Super Bowl.

Kansas City has made three Super Bowl appearances since 2020 and has two trophies to show for it.

This wasn’t the Chiefs’ best season. But so far, they’ve looked like their previous selves with back-to-back wins against the Miami Dolphins and Buffalo Bills. That road game against Buffalo was supposed to be super challenging. Instead, the Chiefs scored 27 points in a 3-point win.

Baltimore’s pass rush is elite. The pass rush is also terrific. But the Ravens aren’t excellent against the run and have missed plenty of tackles this season. There are ways to attack the Ravens. I’m sure the Chiefs will exploit the Ravens in the run game.

But the Ravens will also exploit the Chiefs in the run game. The Chiefs didn’t miss as many tackles as the Ravens but are still weak against the run. The secondary is played exceptionally well, along with the pass rush. But Baltimore’s stepped up more throughout the season on defense.

In the regular season, the Chiefs relied heavily on their defense for most of the season. The offense couldn’t find its rhythm due to a lack of star talent at receiver. But Mahomes made Rashee Rice a star and still has a couple of other guys to throw to, along with Travis Kelce.

Kelce was another guy who struggled to make a substantial impact towards the end of the regular season. However, he had two receiving touchdowns against the Bills and stepped up when needed.

While the Chiefs are figuring things out on offense, the Ravens already have. Baltimore’s been way more consistent than the Chiefs on offense. The Ravens have added more than 500 points and realistically have four different guys who can run ten attempts a game. Baltimore spreads out the carries, and that keeps everyone fresh.

For example, the Ravens beat the Texans with 42 carries and just 16 completions in the air. Lamar Jackson, Justice Hill, Gus Edwards, and Dalvin Cook all had at least eight rushing attempts in that game.

Both defenses deserve a lot of love in the AFC Championship Game. However, it’s probably not bright to bet against Jackson and Mahomes. They’ve got some major NFL records that other quarterbacks in the league don’t have.

The Ravens have the higher Super Bowl odds and the highest probability of winning the Super Bowl. Consider looking at the total, spread, and moneyline when looking at the Chiefs vs Ravens odds.
