Serie A Matchday 27 Preview: Juventus vs Inter Milan Highlight Game

Lazio vs. Roma and Inter vs. Juventus on Sunday

Derby Matchday in Serie A

Italian derbies are among the fiercest rivalries in world football. On Serie A Matchday 27, the greatest show in Rome will take place. Lazio host Roma in the Derby della Capitale on Sunday with both teams fighting for a Champions League spot. Immediately following Lazio vs. Roma, Inter Milan take on Juventus in the Derby d’Italia. Let’s take a look at these rivalry matches and other big games from the weekend.

Matches of the Week:

LAZLazio SC vs RomaROM

Day/Time:

Roma face their biggest rivals Lazio on Sunday with manager Jose Mourinho suspended from the touchline. Without Mourinho, Roma fell 4-3 to Sassuolo last Sunday and this is another difficult match for the Giallorossi. Roma will try to avoid a second straight defeat in the Derby della Capitale in a high stakes match.

Currently, Lazio sit in third place in Serie A on 49 points. Meanwhile, Roma are in fifth place on 47 points and can leapfrog the Biancocelesti with a win. Lazio, technically the home team for this match, are incredibly slight favorites.

The Serie A odds currently price Lazio at +175 moneyline odds and Roma at +180. Lazio pk also comes in at -115, while Roma pk displays -105 odds. Notably, both teams play in UEFA competitions on Thursday and will be on just two days of rest.

Roma lead Real Sociedad 2-0 in the Europa League round of 16 and may be able to conserve some of their energy. Meanwhile, Lazio trail AZ Alkmaar 2-1 in the UEFA Conference League and head to the Netherlands for the second leg.

Lazio midfielder Matias Vecino is suspended for this match and Biancocelesti striker Ciro Immobile is day-to-day with a thigh injury. Roma should get all of Andrea Belotti, Lorenzo Pellegrini, Diego Llorente and Ola Solbakken back from injury ahead of this clash.

However, defender Marash Kumbulla is suspended due to a straight red card in the Sassuolo match. The last five meetings have finished with an outright winner but a draw still shows +205 odds. In a match between two of Serie A’s defenses, goals could come at a premium and the last meeting finished 1-0 to Lazio. Still, over two goals come in at -115 odds.

INT Inter Milan vs JuventusJUV

Day/Time:

Inter Milan joined rivals AC Milan by qualifying for the Champions League quarterfinals on Tuesday. The Nerazzurri held FC Porto to a scoreless draw in Portugal and advanced 1-0 on aggregate. On Serie A Matchday 27, second-placed Inter have another big game.

On Sunday, they take on rivals Juventus in the Derby d’Italia on Sunday, Italy’s most prominent match. If not for Juve’s 15-point deduction, they’d be three points ahead of Inter in the table. Juve also have a European fixture on Thursday in Germany vs SC Freiburg before taking on Inter Milan on Sunday.

The Nerazzurri have won just two of their last five matches in Serie A and fell 2-1 at Spezia last Friday. However, they have managed four straight shutout wins at the San Siro heading into this one. Inter are ½-goal favorites and show -105 ATS and moneyline odds vs. Juventus.

Juventus won the reverse fixture 2-0 but were winless in the previous four meetings. These teams will also meet in early April for the first leg of the Coppa Italia semifinals.

For Sunday’s match, Juventus +½ sits at -115 odds. The Old Lady also come in at +310 odds to win the match and sweep the season Serie A series. A draw also displays +240 odds at the San Siro.

Juve have a bunch of injuries heading into this match, with Alex Sandro, Paul Pogba and Arkadiusz Milik all out. Leonardo Bonucci and Angel di Maria are listed at day-to-day. Plus, forward Moise Kean is suspended. Inter defender Alessandro Bastoni left the match vs. Porto with an injury.

He and Robin Gosens are both presumably doubtful for Sunday’s match. With Milan Skriniar back, Inter do have sufficient defensive cover. Under 2½ goals come in at -135 odds in what should be a tight match.

Other Top-Four Matches

UDIUdinese vs AC MilanMIL

Day/Time:

With AC Milan’s draw vs. Salernitana on Monday, they moved back into the top four in the Serie A standings. Olivier Giroud got on the scoresheet in the 1-1 match as Roma lost to Sassuolo to drop to fifth. Now, the Rossoneri take on an Udinese side unbeaten in their last three matches.

Udinese have drawn at home this season more often than not. In 12 matches in Udine, the Friulani have gone 3-7-2. Another home draw shows +245 odds for the match.

Defending Serie A champions AC Milan are more likely to win, at +110 moneyline and ATS odds. Meanwhile, Udinese +½ comes in at -130 odds and the hosts show +250 odds to defeat the Rossoneri for the first time since 2019. In the reverse fixture, AC Milan won 4-2 at the San Siro as Ante Rebic scored a brace.

However, the previous three meetings finished in draws. Milan, who have struggled with injury problems this season, finally have a nearly healthy side. Only Junior Messias is out of contention and he should return after the international break.

Udinese managed a 1-0 win over Empoli last weekend but will be missing a few players for Saturday’s match. Gerard Deulofeu and Enzo Ebosse will definitely be out, while Kingsley Ehizibue and Adam Masina are day-to-day. Udinese have struggled to score lately, with just nine goals in their last 10 matches. AC Milan have also scored two goals or more in a game just once since February. As a result, the odds price under 2½ goals at -120.

TORTorino vs NapoliNAP

Day/Time:

Napoli bounced back from a defeat to Lazio by beating Atalanta 2-0 on Saturday. Kvicha Kvaratskhelia added to his lengthy highlight reel with a brilliant solo goal. Napoli now head up to Turin, where they’ve enjoyed playing Torino over the last few years. The Partenopei are unbeaten in their last 15 matches vs. Torino in all competitions.

Now, the Serie A Matchday 27 odds price Serie A leaders Napoli as ½-goal favorites. Napoli have what could be an insurmountable 18-point lead at the top of the table and come in at -135 ATS and moneyline odds.

Since losing 4-2 in the Derby della Mole at Juventus a few weeks back, Torino have won their last two matches. On Matchday 26, the Granata defeated Lecce 2-0 as Antonio Sanabria got on the scoresheet for a third time in the last four matches.

The Paraguayan forward is Torino’s leading goalscorer this season with seven Serie A goals. The latest odds list Torino +½ at +115 and the Granata come in at +410 moneyline odds. In eighth place currently, Torino are just five points outside of a European spot. They’ve also been decent at home this season, with five wins, four draws and three losses.

The last five meetings have finished in four Napoli wins and one draw. A first draw in this fixture since 2020 displays +255 odds. However, Napoli have drawn just two matches all season and have an incredible 22 wins in 26 Serie A matches.

As long as Kvaratskhelia and Osimhen are healthy, the Partenopei will pose a huge attacking threat to their opponents. Before this match, Napoli do face Eintracht Frankfurt in the second leg of the UCL round of 16, though. With Napoli on short rest and Torino goal scoring threat Nikola Vlasic doubtful, under 2½ goals show a -140 price.
